Interview with Pete
Officially the hardest band ever to understand...
They've had the same jeans on for four days now, the smelly sods. And they also happen to be on their UK tour, so we caught up with The View's lead guitarist Pete Reilly while their tour bus was broken down. True story...
Pete On...
Touring...
The bus broke down. They're f***ing idiots. I just woke up and it was at the side of the road, I was still in my bunk from last night sleeping! We're in Shrewsbury at the minute, where the f**k is Shrewsbury! It must be near to Wales because we've just left Wales. It's just up from Birmingham I've just been informed! The best gig we've played so far was Manchester, it was brilliant because Mani came on and introduced us, so that was pretty sweet.
Football...
I follow football big time, I support Celtic. Kieren supports Dundee, and Kyle supports Dundee United, but I support Celtic because my Dad does! There's rivalry all the time, it's just wee friendly banter shall we say! One of our engineers supports Dundee United as well so that's where most of the banter comes!
Going to games...
We go when we can, whenever. We went to see Newcastle v Man City when we were in Newcastle, it's just whenever we get a chance we'll go to a game. It was a great game, a dubious penalty as well it was pretty cool.
Celtic...
The League's sewn up man! It's always sewn up! No we'll have to wait and see, there's still plenty of time. I'd rather not speak about the Rangers game to be honest!
Strachan...
He's witty isn't he! A lot Celtic supporters are not keen on him, but I don't mind him. I'm not sure why, just a lot of fans don't see him as the right man still, they still haven't accepted him. But I think he's doing fine, he's got us in the Champions League quarter-finals twice in a row, and obviously we've done well in the League under him.
Favourite player...
It's cliche but I'd have to choose Maradona, but my favourite ever player would have to be Barry Ferguson, definitely.
