The View sign their hand painted Gibson

Number one selling British band and Mercury Award nominees The View recently took time out of their day to sign a specially designed hand painted Gibson SG guitar, which is part of Gibson Guitartown London charity campaign. The specially designed guitar titled “Today Is The Day” by visual artist and friend of the band Ryan McPhail was signed by The View and can currently be seen on public display at The O2 in Greenwich.

The guitar is one of thirty Gibson SG’s on public display at The O2 and will go under the hammer at an auction event on 8th November 2007 in central London where all proceeds will be split equally between The Prince’s Trust, Teenage Cancer Trust and Nordoff-Robbins Music Therapy.

The View have been touring the UK promoting their number one selling debut album “Hats Off To The Buskers” which was nominated at this years Mercury Awards for album of the year. The band performed at many of the major UK summer festivals such as T In The Park, Glastonbury, Ibiza Rocks and The Reading Festival which saw them headline on the NME/Radio 1 Stage.
