Scots rockers THE VIEW scuttled out of the Mercury awards ceremony half way through to trudge a quarter of a mile to the nearest supermarket, where they stocked up on bottle of vodka.

Guitarist PETE REILLY meanwhile had some words to say about the nominations list.

He told me: "I'm really surprised The Enemy didn't get a nomination. I'd have really liked to have seen them here."
