More on Libertines Cover

The View are currently recording a cover of The Libertines 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun,' in London.

Speaking at yesterday's Nationwide Mercury Music Prize nominations - where their debut album, 'Hat's Off To The Buskers,' was nominated for best album - the band's bassist Keiren Webster said the band were asked to choose a cover from the turn of the century.

"We're doing a Libertines track for Radio One," said Webster, as he spoke to Gigwise, "it's for the fifty year anniversary. We got asked to do a cover from the early 2000's."

As well as admitting that 'Don't Look Back Into The Sun,' was his favourite Libertines track, Webster also revealed that the band are already thinking about the follow-up to their number one debut LP.

"We've written a lot of the songs, we just need to rehearse and get them recorded. It's just finding the time to do it. I mean, it should be easier now that we've nearly finished gigging this album."

He added: "We're looking forward to getting into the rehearsal room at the end of the year and recording at the start of next year."

What do you think about The View's choice of Libertines song? If you don't agree, why not leave a comment and suggest an alternative?

I think they should do Can't Stand Me Now instead of Don't Look Back.

no no. can't stand me now depicts peter and carlos' deteroriating relationship, something that wouldn't be fitting for the view to cover.

i think don't look back into the sun is gonna be a great cover, the view are the best band since the libs by far! (not better though..)
