Band seeks youths for music video

Youngsters who look like members of chart-topping band The View are being offered the opportunity to experience five minutes of fame.

The band will be returning to their home city of Dundee next week to shoot a music video and they want local youths to star in it.

Tayscreen Scotland said they are looking for boys and girls aged between seven and 10 and 12 to 15-year-olds.

The band will play a sell-out gig at Dundee's Caird Hall in April.

Julie Craick, Tayscreen Scotland project manager, said: "If you're aged between seven and 10 or 12 and 15 you could be in it - especially if you look like Kyle, Kieran, Pete or Steve. Girls are needed too."

Anyone who is interested should send an email with their name, photograph and a contact phone number to gaynor@tayscreenscotland.com by 1700 GMT on Thursday.

Second gig

Tickets went on sale for the Caird Hall gig on Monday and sold out within an hour, leaving many fans disappointed.

Dundee City Council said it had asked promoters DF Concerts to consider putting on a second gig.

But a DF Concerts spokesperson said there were currently no plans for a second concert.

The news comes a week after it emerged the group's plans to tour America had been thrown into doubt after lead singer Kyle Falconer was convicted for cocaine possession at Dundee Sheriff Court.

His conviction raised the question of whether he would be granted a visa.

However, the group has now announced a tour of the US and Canada, which will take place in April and May.
